    Hi All,

I must offer a NGFW security solution that includes FW + IPS + DDOS capabilities. Per the product matrix the FG-3000D would be a good choice but I am not sure about the DDOS protection. Just wonder, in which cases should I include FortiDDOS? The requirements are:

    FW: Minimum throughput: 20Gbps
    IPS performance: 10 Gbps
DDOS protection for 20 Gbps attacks
    High Availability

    Thanks for your help,
    Amador

    Dear,

If your customer is looking for an advanced DDOS protection you should consider offering FortiDDoS. On Fortigate you will need to use static threshold that cannot dynamically change, while DDoS has algorithms that can adopt to any rising situation.

If you need anymore assistance please let me know.

    Hi,
If you are good in the manual calculation, make changes in the configuration and It is a basic requirement for the DDOS then FortiGate firewall is enough.
If you need professional DDOS protection then you must go with devices.
